Johnson, Milton M. (25 June 1903 –? September 1960)

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon for Milton M. Johnson, 57, of Chili, from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. L. L. McCormick, pastor of the Immanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church in Chili, officiated.  Burial was made in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.

Milton M. Johnson was born June 25, 1903, in the Town of Lynn. He attended Granton schools and helped farm the home farm.  He was married in 1925 to the former Frieda Sternitzky, who survives.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson farmed at Nasonville and Auburndale before moving to Chili 17 years ago.  He had been employed at Spry’s Elevator in Chili and also worked in a shoe factory at Marshfield.  He suffered a heart attack in June, 1959.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Genevieve) Drollinger, Oconomowoc, and Mrs. Wallace (Feryne)* Hammerle of Marshfield, and three grandchildren.  Other survivors include his mother, Mrs. Maggie (West) Johnson; a sister, Mrs. Hubert (Nellie) Quicker, Neillsville; and two brothers; Willard Johnson, Marshfield, and Harvey Johnson, Granton.

Pallbearers were: Herbert Puscheck, Corliss Harriman, E. Lyle Zimmerman, Elmer Steffen, Otto Rusch and Burdette McNaul.

"Abide with Me" and "What a Friend we Have in Jesus" were sung by Wilfred Galstad, accompanied by Miss Kathleen Galstad.
